Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

Huis Clos has no account, no ads and no analytics. The app collects no personal data; its privacy manifest says so to Apple.

1. Your cases

Your cases, placements, crosses, times, magnifiers, rank and settings are stored only on your device. They are sent to no server and the app doesn't use iCloud. You can erase everything from the app's settings. The widget reads a summary of your game stored on the device.

2. Network

Every case is built in and the Case of the Day is worked out on the device from the date. The app's only request asks a LaCobble service for the signed time, to set the day and the streak. It contains just a random one-time number, no data about you. Without a network the game works, only the streak doesn't move.

3. Game Center

If you're signed in to Game Center, Huis Clos sends your achievements there. There are no leaderboards. Game Center is an Apple service, governed by Apple's privacy policy. The sign-in sheet never opens at launch; if you're not signed in, nothing is sent.

4. Evening reminder

The daily reminder is off by default. If you turn it on, the app asks for permission to show notifications and schedules local reminders on your device. No server is involved.

5. Sharing

The Case of the Day telegram and the “Case closed” card only leave when you tap Share, towards the app you choose. They don't contain the culprit's name.

6. No trackers

No ads, no analytics tools, no advertising identifier, no tracking across apps or sites.

7. This website

This site only uses Google Analytics if you accept it in the banner. The support form sends your name, email and message to the LaCobble support service, only to reply to you.
